Description

Stories have power. While they hold meaning for us, they live in us as patterns. Our habitual thinking and ways we tell our stories become a kind of spell that binds us and separates us from others, limiting our natural free expression. As we recognize and loosen these limiting patterns, spontaneous and transformative expressions emerge. In this two-day workshop, we will bring open and kind attention to our habits of voice, of thought, of story-making. We will connect specific contemplative practices with targeted writing prompts to loosen patterns and allow something surprising. Whether you are a new or experienced meditator or a new or experienced writer, this workshop will introduce you to meditation and writing practices that can help you break the spells that bind, freeing the stories and benefitting your writing and your life.
